Dreams and Reality

submitted by Natasha Emaya
12.11.2009

When i hear the word "DREAMS" i can't help it but think of happy things like rainbows and flowers, and also the word impossible and unrealistic comes to my mind. I always wonder why?
My name is Natasha and i have lived all my life in a town near Bethlehem called Beit-Jalla in Palestine.
Sometimes i think about hope and dreams, i wonder why dreams are always associated with "the impposible" in my head, i would like to think it's because of my life and what i have been through. After the second Intifada, we lived homeless for 6 months me and my family, our house was destroyed, can anyone have hope after that?
I certainly have dreams about Palestine. I have always dreamed of going to Jerusalem without having to stop at a checkpoint or maybe the wall would be destroyed and i would not feel like an animal no more.
Humans are filled with dreams and hopes but what if hope walks by you without even saying goodbye? what then?
Never lose your dreams, because no matter how hard and difficult the sound of reality is, dreams can come true. YES THEY CAN.
